LOVING A SAILOR

Loving, a sailor is not all gay
Losing your heart is the price you pay
It's mostly having and not to hold
Being so young, feeling so old
Is sending a letter, the stamp upside down
To a far a love in a far away town
You wish it were possible for him to Phone
To hear him say, I'm on my way home
It's saying Goodbye to the one you love
Wondering if you will see him again
You reluctantly, painfully let him go
While inside, your crying, wanting him so
You wait a word that he is well
You wait for a month and no mail for a spell
When a letter comes you bubble with joy
and act like a child with a brand new toy
Loving a Sailor has unfound fears
Crying until there are no more tears
Hating the world ,yourself and the war
All because it took the man you adore
Going to church to sing and pray
You know he's yet so far away
But you keep loving him more each day
Yes, Loving a sailor is bitterness and tears
It's loneliness, sadness and unfound fears
Loving a sailor Is really no fun
But it's worth it when the battle is WON!
